Larry Dale Marion, aged 68, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 11th, 2024, at the Brentwood Terrace Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Paris, Texas. He was born July 9th, 1958 in Dallas, Texas to Christine Burns and Ronald Marion. He married Cindy Marion on December 14th, 1975. He raised two children. A daughter named Crystal Ford, and a son named Jamie Marion. He was a painter, and loved his craft and the work that he did. He eventually started his own business titled “Shorty’s Paint and Drywall”. He was a kind man, that loved to joke around and watch his favorite football team, the Cowboys, with a beer in his hand. Larry was always willing to help a family member or friend in need, whether it be giving them a job or a place to stay. He loved Thanksgiving and cutting the turkey along with his homemade dressing. He loved Dr. Pepper, hot peppers with every dinner, “fried taters”, volleyball games at family get togethers, Christmas, back scratches, his snack bucket on top of the fridge, and the T.V. show “Two-And-A-Half Men.” He loved his grandchildren, and every member of his family immensely.
Larry is survived by his wife, Cindy; his brother, Randy Alderson; his children, Crystal and Jamie; his grandchildren, Justin, Katelynn, Kristen, Dalton, and Peyton; and many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Christine Burns; his father, Ronald Marion; and three of his siblings, Howard Alderson, Glenda Alderson, and Darla Alderson.
The world lost a wonderful man. Family, Friends, and others whose lives Larry has touched are invited to the Charles W. Smith and Sons Funeral Home in McKinney, Texas at 2:00 p.m. on February 16th, 2024 to grieve, support each other and, of course, talk about Shorty and his beautiful life.
