Larry Joe Duke

Larry J. Duke, 75, of Wylie passed away Thursday March 21, 2019 at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center of Plano. Visitation will be at the Lakeview Cemetery Chapel on March 29 in Lavon, Texas from 5:00 – 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on March 30 at 2:00 pm at the Lakeview Cemetery Chapel with Pastor Jake Vicknair officiating.

Larry was born February 11, 1944 in Dallas, Texas to Buford and Mildred Duke. Larry Duke was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson high school and attended University of Texas Arlington. He proudly served his country in the Navy as a submariner on the SSBN-624 Woodrow Wilson. He later made a career of 29 years at Texas Instruments in the Research & Development Department. Larry ultimately retired from TriQuint in 2006. Larry enjoyed woodworking, mechanics, and fishing. He never knew a stranger and loved his family dearly.

Those left to cherish his memory is his wife of 51 years, Fran Duke, sons Joe Duke and wife Cristi, and Mark Duke and wife Angela, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Larry was preceded in death by his parents Buford and Mildred Duke and brothers Buford Duke jr., Ronald Duke, Donald Duke and John Duke.
