Lanny Jerrell Rains

Lanny Jerrell Rains, 68, passed away on Friday March 25th in Greenville, Texas at his home after sustaining a massive heart attack. Lanny enjoyed playing golf and going fishing. He was born on October 12th 1947 in Whitehead, Texas to Sally Lucille Daniel and Everett Aaron Rains, both deceased.

He was preceded in death by brother Billy Rains. Surviving siblings include brother Donald Murl Rains, and wife Dorothy, of Garland , and sister Nell Rains-Kyser-Bostick and husband Doug, of Royse City. Children include daughter Rozann Rains Robinson and husband Don, of Houston; Son Clint Rains and wife Cyndi, of Arlington, and son Mark Rains of Richardson.

He was affectionately known as “Pa-Pa Lanny” to his five grandchildren: Nicholas Janek, Brandon Rains, Gavin Rains, Seth and Ava Rains.

Memorial/Visitation for Lanny are Tuesday March 29th from 5pm-8 pm at Eastgate Funeral Home in Garland, Texas. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting to please make a contribution to the American Heart Association
