Kristi Elizabeth Blackshear, 58, of Sachse Texas, went to be with our Lord on January 4, 2025, after a short but mighty battle with cancer. Kristi bravely faced and conquered many obstacles during her battle; her strength, determination, and smiles through it all astonished her doctors and everyone around her.
She was born on November 15, 1966 to RV & Lula Faye Rosser, in Garland TX. Kristi was the youngest of five children, and loved her siblings and parents dearly. Family has always been significant to Kristi, and she carried that on to the family she built.
Although Kristi and Chris’ journey began in the exuberance of youth, life took them on different paths for a time, but her heart never wavered. Kristi resided in Picayune, MS for several years and built a life birthing and raising three children. Even in the face of youthful mistakes, Kristi chose love and compassion over anger and blame. It was this grace that allowed Kristi & Chris to find each other again.
Kristi’s contributions to their family and community were immeasurable. She was the heartbeat of their family-owned business, pouring her heart and soul into it until its closing in 2010 - a loss that deeply affected her. Even in that heartbreak, Kristi’s resilience shone through. She taught us all the true meaning of love, dedication, and perseverance.
She is survived by her spouse, Chris Blackshear; son, Cody Blackshear; son, Tray Collier; daughter and son-in-law, Kasey & Jonathan Wright; granddaughters, Desirae & Jailyn Tolbert; sister, Brenda Loveless; sister and brother-in-law, Becky & James Puckett; amongst many other cherished family members.
She is preceded in death by her parents, RV & Lula Faye Rosser; brother, Larry Rosser; brother, Randy Rosser; first husband and father of two children, Tracy Collier.
Kristi’s legacy is one of love, strength, and forgiveness. She leaves behind a tapestry of memories woven with laughter, love, and music. She taught us to embrace life with open arms, to forgive freely, and to love deeply. Her spirit will live on in the lives she touched, in the stories we share, and in the love we continue to give one another.
