Kimberly Diane Mashburn

October 12, 1955 — March 25, 2017

Kimberly Logston-Mashburn of Princeton, TX, passed away on March 25, 2017 at the age of 61.

Kim had battled illnesses and health complications the last several years of her life but her passing was still unexpected. Her husband, John Mashburn, had been faithfully and diligently tending to her needs through these years and was by her side through her final time here. Additional surviving family members include her mother, Mary Logston; her children, Chris Logston and his wife Angela , Challis Story and her husband Jonah; her siblings, Nancy and Charlie Logston, as well as a family full of grandchildren, a great-grandson, nieces and nephews. All family she has loved to laugh with, drink Diet Cokes with, and give away her collection of Tuesday Morning trinkets and garage sale finds. To know Kim was to have at least something small from her that you never knew you needed but her taste was impeccable.

She has been joyfully reunited with siblings Damon and Lisa Logston; her daddy, Raymond Logston; and her son Jason McDonald, with whom she is finally able to have a conversation, we know they had a lot to catch up on. She has also been united with Jesus, she knew him here and now His glory and goodness has made her whole, a great hope she would want for you to have too.

Kim had a career as a CNA which put her in work in assisted living facilities as well as a home health career providing care to seniors at various stages of health and needs. Many of Kim’s clients became close friends. She had a way to bring smiles and humor into any situation and her jokes and cartoons were well-known. Later, Kim spent several years as a stay at home mother to her 3 children, while providing great care to her disabled son, Jason. Kim had a great love for her children and family and mastered loving each one despite distance or circumstances. Family would say she mastered the phone too, which is okay when we say it just not okay when you do. Kim was selfless to a fault, giving half of anything she had even if she only had a dollar. She had great capacity for kindness and compassion and wit, good humor goes a long way. We will be having one final Diet Coke with Kim on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 2 pm at Grove Hill Cemetery in Dallas, TX. Viewing will be at Charles W. Smith and Sons Funeral Home in McKinney, TX Thursday evening from 6-8 pm.
