Kenneth Robinson

Kenneth Eugene Robinson entered this life on October 13, 1954 in McKinney, Texas. He was blessed to be the son of two wonderful parents, Kenneth Kadane Robinson and Mary Lou Petty Robinson. He passed on from this life on March 3, 2020.

1973, a mere 18 years after his birth, was a big year for Kenny. He married Donna Lynn Davidson; was blessed with a bouncing baby girl, Kimberly Kay; and he graduated from McKinney High School. (Let us not dwell on the order of those events.) Three short years later, his son Kenneth Kadane (who you all know as Bubba) was born.

Kenny worked at Texas Instruments, installed sprinkler systems, and worked on street cars. Speaking of cars - he built race cars, worked on race cars, custom painted race cars, and drove race cars. (He really liked race cars.) Whichever one he was doing; you can bet he was doing it better than anyone else and putting his own mark on it. He was funny, always the life of the party, super smart, an expert hell raiser (when the situation called for it) and a great friend. If he was your friend, you knew it. And you knew that you could call on him at any time for anything. He lived life like a feather in the wind - one that was sure to be passing by at an elevated rate of speed.

After enough time had passed, according to his schedule, Kenny chose what we will call early retirement. And it was then, that he began living his best life. He raised his fishing skills to "Level Expert", became a walking encyclopedia on the subject of Gunsmoke, never missed a NASCAR or NHRA race, and became a master operator of the John Deer lawn mower. Then, most importantly, he replaced those race cars with more challenging machines - fast little boys and girls. As grandpa to Mikey, Dillon, Corbin, Donovan and Kyrsten, uncle to Rusty and Kaci, and great uncle to Keegan and Cameron, he became the man – the myth – the legend – known as Paw Paw. And he was a good one. Those kids followed him around like little shadows. He loved them, protected them, praised them to anyone who would listen, and taught them so many things about life. (Some things that may or may not have been entirely appropriate for little people. But we'll give him a pass on that.)

He was certainly one of a kind. He's only been gone a few days, and the world already seems a little different without him in it.

Kenny was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Kadane Robinson.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Robinson of McKinney; son Kenny Robinson and wife Roma of Sawyer, Oklahoma; daughter Kimberly Cave and husband Danny of Princeton; sister Kathy Robinson of McKinney; Grandchildren Mikey Hughes, Dillon Hughes, Corbin Hughes, Donovan Olsen and Kyrsten Robinson; niece Kaci Robinson; nephew Rusty Brashear and wife Stephanie and great nephews Cameron Adams and Keegan Robinson.
