Kenneth Leon Lawson, 74, of Sachse, TX, went to his heavenly home with his family by his side on October 16, 2024. Born on June 17, 1950, in Springfield, MO, he was a devoted husband to Pamela Lawson.
Ken was hard-working and dedicated. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1969-1971. He spent over 48 years working in construction and property management. He retired in 2017 from CBRE as Senior VP of Operations overseeing Baylor Scott and White Hospital facilities. Since retirement, he spent his free time serving the community through his volunteering with Sachse Animal Shelter, Citizens on Patrol with Sachse Police Department, and the Dallas Off-Road Bicycle Association (DORBA).
Ken’s hobbies and interests helped define who he was. He always took on any handyman project his daughters and sons in law needed help with. He could build or fix anything. The Grandkids were his pride and joy. He was their biggest supporter at all of their school functions and sporting events. He was an avid cyclist, which is something he shared with his children and grandchildren. His motto was “no training wheels.”
He is survived by his wife Pamela of 55 years, his 3 daughters and their spouses Lisa and John Calhoun, Amy and Brian Stubblefield, Melanie and Joe Fuller and his 7 grandkids, Bailey, Caden, Colton, Conner, Paisley, Kylie, & Beckham as well as many friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to DORBA and Sachse Animal Shelter, both causes very close to Ken’s heart.
We find comfort in knowing that his legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we will cherish forever.
