Kenneth Wayne Bennett, lovingly known as Wayne to friends and family, left this earth on August 9, 2012. Wayne was born in Tyler, Texas on January 3, 1974
It is said that how you live your "dash" in life is what matters. Wayne’s short span, his "dash", of 38 years, was well lived and experienced. Wayne loved weekends at the lake with family and friends. He was always helping boats come join in the fun safely by helping them set their anchor, which was appropriate as Wayne was an anchor to his family and friends. He enjoyed traveling, seeing the country, and visiting historic places. He was fun, outgoing and compassionate. Wayne never met a stranger, and if someone tried to be a stranger, he had a way about him that would change that instantly. Children of all ages felt his warmth and love and trusted him within seconds of knowing him. He could make anyone laugh in even the darkest, brightest, easiest and most difficult situations. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him.
Wayne was employed by Darr Equipment Company in Southlake, Texas as a field service technician. His ability to work with his hands and be mechanically minded was a great benefit to the company. Prior to that, he spent many miles on the road driving a truck for Lone Star Transportation, Emmert International, and Northwest Companies.
Wayne is survived by his loving partner, Jon Rains, of McKinney, Texas; his son, Steven "Butch" Carroll; his brother, Hershal Weldon Bennett and his wife Vicki, of Sherman, Texas; brother James Bennett, of Sherman, Texas; brother Terrell Bennett and his wife Debbie, of Gustine, Texas; brother Freddie Bennett and his wife Debbie of Commanche, Texas; and brother Eddie Bennett and his wife Brenda, of Sidney, Texas.
