Kathryn Ann Smith

Kathryn Smith - beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away at her home in Wylie, Texas on November 6, 2024 at the age of 78. Born on July 26, 1946 in Gorman, Texas Kathy grew up with a strong sense of adventure and compassion for others. She graduated from Post High School in 1964 and soon after married her soulmate, Hoss Smith. Together, they embarked on a journey that took them from Alaska to South America, creating a lifetime of memories over their 60 years of marriage.

Kathy and Hoss raised two wonderful daughters, Kristi Michelle Bishop of Waxahachie, Texas and Staci Jill Bachand of Round Rock, Texas, who remember her as a loving and devoted mother. Kathy also cherished her four grandchildren: Braden Bishop and his wife Merry, Brice Bishop, Emily Bachand, and Mallory Bachand. Known as “Granma” Kathy's love and kindness left an indelible mark on each of their lives.

She is survived by her husband Hoss, her daughters Kristi and Staci, her sons-in-law Don and Dan, her grandchildren, her brother Mike Harlan, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends whom she held close to her heart.  She is preceded in death by her loving mother, Joy Hunter.

At Kathy's request, a small graveside service will be held in Leakey, Texas, where family and close friends will gather to celebrate her life and say their final goodbyes. Kathy will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, deep love for her family, and the kindness she shared with all who knew her.
