Kathleen Ann Wheeland was born in Canton, Ohio to Robert Whitacre and Grace Miller Whitacre on October 5, 1947. She passed from this life in Wylie, Texas on June 20, 2011.
Kathleen graduated as a registered nurse from the Altman Hospital Nursing program and worked as a nurse in hospitals for many years. She later moved into the insurance industry doing case management until the time of her disabling stroke. Kathleen lived for over 30 years in the Plano and Wylie areas. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren, the dogs and her crocheting.
Kathleen is survived by her daughter Jennifer Martinez and husband Joe, grandchildren Noah, Emma and Sophia, sister Linda Gardner, brother Bob Whitacre, nieces Lisa, Janet and Lori, nephews Robby and Todd and his wife Jonnie, and several great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 22, from 12:00 " 2:00 p.m. at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Chapel, 2925 Fifth Street in Sachse, Texas, 972-414-5050. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, June 22 at 2:00 p.m. at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in the Sachse Cemetery.
