Juanita Jo Harris

October 23, 1924 — October 20, 2013

Juanita Walker Harris passed peacefully into God's eternal care on the morning of October 20th, 2013, just three day short of her 89th birthday. "Grandma Jo", as she was affectionately known to her family, was born October 23, 1924 to Wensel Walter and Edna (Greenwell) Walker and raised on a farm in Inkster, Michigan. She was graduated from Inkster High School in 1943. Through her life she lived in Michigan, Florida and finally in Texas.
As a young woman she enjoyed horseback riding and was an avid golfer for much of her adult life. When her children were young she served as a Cub Scout and Brownie Scout Leader; later on she was the President of the Allen Park Chamber of Commerce Women's Auxiliary. She also enjoyed traveling and doing crafts such as crochet. Above all else, Grandma Jo loved her family and family events.
She is survived by four children: Lindell Daubresse (Paulette), Gary Daubresse (Louise), Tina Wenzel (Tom), and Craig Daubresse; seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 2nd at 2:00 PM at the Charles W. Smith Funeral Home, 2925 5th St. in Sachse, Texas. A private inurnment will follow at a later date.
