Juan Lee Jones

Juan Lee Jones was born June 7th, 1969 in Norfolk, Virginia to Mary Jones and Herbert Philpotts. He passed away May 11, 2021 in Allen, Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Yumi Kijima and son, Zion. Also by three sisters: Valerie Berry (Lewis) of Colonial Heights, VA; Leila Copes of San Diego, CA; Belinda Porter of Stanton, CA; and two brothers, Clarence Jones, Jr. of Monument, CO; and Keith Jones of Chesapeake, VA. Also his Mother-In-Law Rakuko Kijima of Kanagawa, Japan; and one brother-in-law Yoshikazu Kijima (Naomi) of Kanagawa, Japan. A plethora of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Our loved one will be remembered by being "the best" knowing that he could not do only for himself but for other people. He helped any child or adult find his/her passion and helped them pursue their dreams. He'd stay up all night trying to solve and analyze how to make the world a better place and how to take action. He organized free basketball practices 8-4 pm for ages 6-20+ so that they could have a better chance at getting a scholarship for basketball and playing in the pro league. He risked his own life so that our country and our family could have a roof over our heads and have food on our plates. He participated in events to feed the homeless and helping the people in need. He helped his team get promoted due to his taking action. He worked at the Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR) so that I could get the best education possible. He read every single book about my dream so that I could accomplish my goals. He comforted my mom when she was ill and sick and was there by her side even if it was contagious. He was always there for all of us. You could always count on him and and he would give it 220% of his power. There's not one day where he said "maybe later" of "I'll get to it when I can". He would go out of his way to help anyone in need. It is our duty to continue his legacy and show the world how valuable his lessons were!!
