Juan Rey Alvarez

Juan Rey Alvarez, of McKinney, TX, was born to Jose and Martina Alvarez in Edinburg, TX on January 6, 1970. He passed away at the age of 52 on March 6, 2022.

He was an extremely dedicated, hard-working employee at Waste Connections for the past 20 years. Rey was blessed with a large and loving family. He was married to his wife, Crystal Alvarez, for 13 years. Rey was a strong, kind, loving, and supportive father. Rey has three amazing children, whom he was immensely proud of, Rey, Ava, and Zachary. He loved spending time with his children. He took pride in taking his family on trips and introducing them to new places. Rey loved sports and enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys. He was a craftsman who enjoyed working with his hands, accomplishing projects around his home and yard. Anyone who knew Rey knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. He was a kind-hearted individual who will forever be remembered for his humor, laugh, and smile.

Rey was survived by his wife, Crystal; his children Rey, Ava, and Zachary; his parents, Jose and Martina Alvarez; and siblings, Lourdes Cook, Joe Alvarez, Carmen Valetti, Jose Alvarez, Jesse Alvarez, Minnie Greer, and Maria Elizabeth Alvarez.

Services will be held at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral (601 S. Tennessee Street, McKinney, TX 75069) on March 14, 2022, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. On March 15, 2022, there will be a Mass service at St. Michael the Archangel (411 Paula Road., McKinney TX, 75069) from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. The graveside service will follow at Pecan Grove Cemetery (1701 S. McDonald Street, McKinney, TX 75069).
