Josefina Gonzalez

Josefina González, age 94, passed away on August 10, 2016 at Dallas Regional Medical Center in Mesquite, TX. Josefina was born March 19, 1922, in Monterrey, México, the daughter of Cleotilde and Jacinto González.

Josefina was a kind, caring soul who made the most of every minute she was among us. From ballroom dancing, to travels that led her to Spain, Haiti, Puerto Rico, and Hawaii, Josefina enjoyed every moment that God bestowed upon her.

Josefina’s greatest life accomplishment was the family that she created, took care of, raised, provide for, nurtured, loved, and adored. From always assuring that her children were happy and healthy, to making her grandchildrens’ wishes come true, Josefina was the glue that held her family together.

Her gentle smile, contagious laughter, and warm, genuine hugs will be missed by those who loved her most. However, she has left a profound legacy that her family has promised to carry on, a legacy that includes living each day as honestly and as whole-heartedly as possible, and valuing family above all else.

Josefina is survived by her husband of 69 years, Ovidio C. González; her daughter María G. García, her daughter Laura T. González, her son Ovidio González Jr. (Bella), her daughter Leticia Briones (Gonzalo);9 grandchildren; Laura Rae & (Jason), Marisa Huey & (Kevin), Belinda Moran & (Michael), David Briones,Stephanie Koposko & (Alvin), Michael Gonzalez, Melissa Gonzalez and Christopher Gonzalez. 7 great-grandchildren; her sisters Elvira González Vda.De Paez and Ofelia González; and her brother Rogelio González (María Guadalupe).We Adore you Mama Fina....

The Rosary and visitation will beon Monday, August 15, 2016 from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.at Charles W. Smith & Sons F. H. on2925 5thSt. in Sachse, Texas 75048.

Funeral services will be heldon Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at 10:00 a.m.at Charles W. Smith & Sons Chapel on2925 5thSt. in Sachse, Texas 75048. The burial will take place at Lake View Cemetery on2343 Lake Road in Lavon, TX 75166.
