Jonathan David Kriek, at the age of 35, went to meet his heavenly father on Saturday, August 12, 2017 in Wylie, Texas. He was a beloved husband and father and he is dearly missed.
Jonathan was born on February 26, 1982 in Saint Louis, Missouri to Vernon Henry Kriek and Susan Renea Kriek. He lived in Wylie, Texas and attended New Hope Christian Church. As a child, he loved music and he played guitar and keyboard. He enjoyed playing soccer and was a member of the Boy Scouts. As a teenager, he was involved in children’s and street ministries in Clermont, Florida. He received an Associate’s Degree in Computer Drafting and Design from ITT Technical in Richardson, Texas and was a Highest Honor Graduate. He received several certificates of recognition from AutoDesk, and was proud to achieve the status of Expert Elite. He had an appreciation for classic cars, especially Ford Mustangs, and enjoyed working on his own car. He loved spending time with his family and also had fun playing games online.
He is survived by his wife of nine years, Sara Faye Kriek and their children Dallas James Kriek and Mia Grace Kriek; mother Susan Kriek of Winter Springs, Florida and brothers Matthew Kriek of Winter Springs, Florida and Andrew Kriek of Auburndale, Florida, along with a lot of extended family and friends who will forever miss him. He was preceded in death by his father Vernon Henry Kriek.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 18, 2017 between 6:00 and 8:00pm, with a celebration of life memorial service scheduled for 2:00pm on August 19, 2017, both at the Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home in Sachse, Texas. Pastor Keith Spurgin will officiate.
