• LIFE
Born in Dallas, Texas on April 18, 1921 to William Zachry McNiel and Lillie Mae Murphy McNiel.
Wed to Juanita Julia McNiel on October 12, 1941 and remained married until Juanita went to be with the Lord on September 11, 2008.

Joined the United States Army in 1942 and served as a Radio Operator in the Pacific theater of operations serving under General Douglas MacArthur. He was honorably discharged in 1946 and earned two Bronze Stars during his service.

Graduated from Southern Methodist University in 1949 with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

Johnny lived most of his life in Dallas, Texas with his beloved wife, Juanita. After her passing, he resided in Gunter, Bonham, and Temple, Texas.

Long service to the Lord as Deacon and Elder at the Piedmont Church of Christ in Dallas, and Minister of the Linda Heights Church of Christ in Dallas and the Eastern Hills Church of Christ in Garland.

• FAMILY

Survived by sons Wayne McNiel and his wife Linda(Andy)of Winchester, KY, Terry McNiel of Temple, TX, and Kevin McNiel and his wife Tanya of Gunter, TX. Grandchildren Whitney McNiel, Jason McNiel and his wife Kerri, Ashley Lewis and her husband Michael, Leslie Pasley and her husband Alvin, Joshua McNiel, Ariana Orten and her husband James, Damon McNiel, Elizabeth Wallis and her husband Justin, and Emily McNiel. He was also blessed with the joy of seven great-grandchildren as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Johnny was predeceased by his beloved wife Juanita, mother, Lillie Mae (Susie) McNiel, father, William Zachry McNiel, sisters Gladys, Lillie Belle, and Margie, William and brother Charles "Bill" and Virgil.

•SERVICE

Services will be held at the Eastgate Funeral home at noon on Thursday, March 15, 2012 with Craig Sanborn officiating. A brief graveside service will be held at the Grove Hill Cemetery in Dallas, Texas following the funeral service with military honors.

A time of visitation will be held between 7:00 and 9:00 pm on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at the Eastgate Funeral Home.
