After a long illness, has passed away.

Johnny was born in Seminole ,OK. The family moved to Borger, TX where he spent his early days. In 1940, they arrived in Dallas, where he attended High School. He graduated from School in the Philippines in 1948. Returning to Dallas, He worked for Reserve Life Insurance for 37 years where he met his wife Shirley.
He retired there as Communications Director. In his later years, he began to write letters and poetry and wrote over 6000 poems.

He was a member of First Baptist Church and Liberty Baptist Missionary Church. Survived by his wife of 65 years and son and daughter-law Richard and Susan.
Also, brother Darmon Charles Higgins, sister Vera Ann Pierson and brother in law Nat Gunn. He was blessed with numerous nephews and nieces.
