Johnnie Mae Hortman, age 68, passed from this life April 29, 2011 in Richardson, Texas.
She was born April 12, 1943 in Upson County, Georgia to parents, Fred and Obie (Howard) Hanson who have preceded her in death.
Johnnie had lived all of her life in Griffin, Georgia until three years ago when her and her husband Jerry moved to Nevada, Texas to be near their children and grandchildren.
She is a member of the Landmark Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing Yatzee and doing crossword puzzles. Her family said that she was the family Rock.
She has worked as an assembler inspector for TDK industries.
Johnnie is survived by her lifelong husband of almost 50 years Jerry Hortman, children; Mike Hortman and wife Rhonda, Chuck Hortman and wife Lisa and Scott Hortman and wife Cynthia, grandchildren; Brandon, Kristi, C.J., Josh, Mardie, Chad, Cody, T.J. and Brittany, great grandchildren; Camden and Audrina.
VISITATION will be 2 " 4 P.M. Sunday May 1, 2011 at Charles W Smith and Sons Sachse Chapel, 2925 Fifth Street, Sachse, Texas 75048, 972-414-5050.
FUNERAL SERVICE will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, May 2, 2011 at the Sachse Chapel and Rev. Kyle Gulledge will officiate the service. Interment will follow at the Nevada Cemetery, Nevada, Texas.
