John Dale Ray, 87, of Arlington died January 8, 2012. He was born to C. H. and Emma Whittenberg Ray on September 4, 1924.
John was raised in Prosper,Texas where, in 1943, he was a graduate of the local high school. He served in the Navy during WWII after which he married Lou Etta Willock on June 16, 1950. John was of the Baptist faith and a 57 year member of the Alexander Garrett Masonic Lodge #1216 in Dallas.
Mr. Ray is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lou, 1 nephew, 2 nieces, 4 cousins, and a great host of friends for many years, which are like family.
Services will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Chapel, 601 S. Tennessee Street in McKinney, Texas, with a visitation prior to the service. Interment will follow at Pecan Grove Cemetery, located at 1702 S. Tennessee in McKinney.
