John is preceded in death by his parents; and nine siblings.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Muth; three daughters, Nancy Tomlinson and her husband, Ellis, Janice Merucci and Linda Sutterfield and her husband, Rob; five grandchildren, Kristi Edstrom and her husband, Mike, Kasey Tomlinson, John Tomlinson, Jacki Merucci, and Joe Merucci; two great-grandchildren, Sawyer Edstrom and Kinsley Edstrom; brother, Kenneth Muth; and other family members.
