John Andrew Murphy

John Andrew Murphy, 69, of Gainesville, Texas, passed away April 28, 2016.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sarah E. and W.B. Murphy of Anna, brothers Pat Murphy of Blue Ridge and Joe Murphy of Anna.

He is survived by wife and stepson Judy and Jeremiah Woolard of Gainesville, sons; Dennis Murphy of Leonard, John W. (Bill) Murphy of McKinney, and Clint Murphy of Sulphur Springs; daughter, Karla M. Douglas of Anna; sisters Carla Phillips of Blue Ridge and Ruth Murphy Eby of Blue Ridge; brother David Murphy of Blue Ridge; 4 granddaughters and 2 grandsons.

Family Night will be held from 6-8 pm, Monday, May 2, 2016 at Charles W. Smith Funeral Home at 601 S. Tennessee St, McKinney, Texas.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at Stoney Point Cemetery off of FM 545 outside of Melissa.

Directions: Take 75 North toward McKinney. At this point 121 and 75 north are the same road. Stay on 75. Take Exit 45 toward Bonham. Go about 2.5 miles. Turn right on FM 545. Go about 4 miles. The road winds aroundand then passes a fertilizer plant on your right. Watch for a white fence with a windmill in yard on left. There is a small Stoney Point sign on the leftbut it is easy to miss.

Go Right on gravel road to cemetery. The cemetery is by the Stoney Point Baptist Church.
