He is preceded in death by his wife, Johnnie Mae Hickey; and his daughter, Marlena Hickey Riordan.
John is survived by his son, John G. Hickey and his wife, Pamela; seven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M., Sunday, March 11, 2012 at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home in Sachse.
Service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, March 12, 2012 at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home Chapel , 2925 5th Street, Sachse, Texas. Interment will follow in Sachse Cemetery.
