John "Andy" Randall Anderson

Dr. John Randall Anderson ("Andy"), 84, of McKinney, TX, passed away on July 11th, 2020. Andy was born to John and Daisy Anderson on December 4, 1935 in Tarrytown, New York. He received his Bachelors' Degree in 1958 from State University of New York, College at Brockport. He then attained his Master's Degree from Syracuse University in 1963 and pursued and achieved his Doctor of Medicine (MD) from The University of Buffalo Medical School, where he met and married his beloved Carole (1944-2013) in 1965, and later graduated, with honors, in 1967. He then served in the U.S. Navy, as a Naval Flight Surgeon at numerous duty stations. He was discharged from the Navy in 1972 and compiled a 40-year medical career in with specializations in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, a Fellowship in Sports Medicine, as well as rounding out his tenure at the Research Institute for Addictions, in Buffalo, New York. He is survived by: two son's: Dane (Charisse) and Garth (Dara); four grandchildren, Mackenzie, Brody, Andrew and Megan Anderson. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, as well as his stepmother Eva, as well as his wife of 48 years, Carole.

*** There will be a memorial mass held at St. Gabriel the Archangel Church, 110 St. Gabriel Way, McKinney, TX 75071, on Wednesday July 29, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. CDT in which masks are required to be worn. The service will also be livestreamed. ***

Arrangements and dispositions are being handled by Charles W. Smith and Son's funeral home in McKinney.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you donate in Dr. Anderson's honor: a pint of blood, Men's Club Scholarship Fund at Saint Gabriel's, or your own select and preferred charity.
