Joann Freeman of Mesquite, Texas passed away peacefully and entered into the arms of her Heavenly Father on May 5, 2022. Joann was born on December 13, 1936 in High Point, North Carolina to Julian Lomie Kiser and Ila Mae Kiser. Joann married the love of her life Donald Lee Freeman in 1956.
Joann worked many years as a keypunch operator and supervisor with various companies, one in which she met and worked with Mary Gossett, who became a dear lifelong friend that also let her to the Lord and brought her and her family to Calvary Hill Baptist Church in 1972, where she and her husband's membership remains. She also worked for her husband at Big Town Automotive before retiring and traveling with her sister, Barbara.
Joann is proceeded in death by her father Julian Lomie Kiser and mother Ila Mae Kiser. She is survived by her husband, Donald Lee Freeman, Daughters: Tammy Calfy of Rockwall, TX and Diona Langley (Larry) of Mesquite, TX; Grandchildren: Brandon Cooley, Candace Rice (Jamie), Joshua Spencer (Kelli), Lyndsi Langley (Wade), Kevin Langley and Keldon Langley; Seven great grandchildren: Dylan Rice, Colby Clouse, Channing, Charlee and Karsyn Martin, Merrick and Mila Cooley; Sisters: Loretta Babb (Maurice) and Barbara Marsh, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday June 4, 2022 at 11:00am at Calvary Hill Baptist Church, 3300 La Prada Dr, Mesquite, TX 75150. Visitation will held from 10:30-11:00am
