Joan Lemon

July 12, 1935 — July 3, 2019

Joan Lemon; 83 entered into rest on July 3, 2019 in Wylie, Texas. She was born on July 12,1935 to parents Arthur and Annie Arnold in Moffat, Texas. Joan married her sweetheart Edward "Eddie" Lemon January 10 ,1962, and they shared 40 wonderful years together.

The Lemon family has a lifetime of memories, but the majority of them were spent at Lake Tawakoni on the weekends. Mom and Dad had an old two-room cabin where we spent many weekends, swimming, boating, fishing for catfish and swimming across "The Point" and enjoying FOOD! There were many Fourth of July holidays spent there where Johnny, John D, Jimmy, Bruce and I would blow up as many fireworks as our parents could afford. One specific incident involved "someone" throwing a lit bottle rocket into the air, only to watch it flip around and land directly into the bag FULL of unlit fireworks, setting them all off at once! We all ran for our lives that day! Many memories were made with the Holt family: Susie, John, Jimmy and John D. We will forever be brothers, as our mom, Joan, took care of and fed all of us during those trips.

Joan was well known to never miss an Arnold Reunion. So many great memories from those days of food, fun, games and the infamous Arnold Auctions! Joan could also spot a garage or yard sale from a mile away! Mom loved finding stuff to buy and then would take them to the infamous Quinlan Flea Market, double the price and still be broke by Tuesday (because she would find MORE stuff to buy). Mom was a very hard worker all of her life, sometimes holding down two jobs to keep us kids fed and happy. All three of her children have a strong work ethic because of our parents.

Joan is preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Annie, her husband Edward Lemon, brothers Shafter Arnold and Bill Arnold.

Left to cherish her memory are children Johnny Allen Lemon, Kevin Dale Lemon and Carrie Renee De Los Santos, and two wonderful daughters-in-law Cynthia Marie Lemon and Deborah Ann Lemon. Joan was blessed with 6 grandchildren; Jason, Meagan, Marshall, Kelsey, Dalton & Nicholas. Four great-grandchildren: Kylee, Jacob, Maverick & Mollie. We will all miss you and love you forever!
