Jim Louie Adrian III passed away on September 19, 2014 surrounded by family at the age of 67 years. He was preceded in death by his father Dr. Jim Adrian II, mother Norene Baldridge, stepfather Ed Baldridge, sister Sharon Clark, sister Diana Adrian, his longtime love Hassie, and other family and friends. He was born in Amarillo, Texas and came from one of the original families that settled Amarillo - the Plemons. Jim was a graduate of Palo Duro High School in 1965, and attended Amarillo College. He later lived in the Dallas area and Houston before moving to Oklahoma to work. He attended the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond. He moved to North Carolina from Oklahoma in 1990 after Hurricane Hugo (for construction work) and remained there until just recently. Over the course of his life, Jim briefly worked as a new car salesman, computer programmer, truck driver, cattleman, wheat harvester, oil rigs worker and explosives engineer. However, he worked mostly in the construction field, and became a self-taught expert in roofing. Jim found more freedom and flexibility in being self-employed. He is remembered for being an avid reader, having a desire to continuously learn, taking online courses, and for being energetic and needing to stay busy. He was focused on health and fitness regimens, enjoying bicycling, walking, and competitive dancing, but also enjoyed canoeing, rafting, and being outdoors. He had a keen interest in many things - including bird watching. Jim was fearless in his approach to life. When he got an idea into his head, he could not be stopped! Jim finally came home to Texas and is now with our Lord. He was loved and will be dearly missed. He is survived by his son Benjamin Adrian, daughter Stephanie Adrian and her children Seth and Mikaela Detten, sister Debra Bilberry and her husband Monty and their sons John and Sean, brother-in-law John McLeod, nephew Michael Clark and his daughter Mikayla, niece Kristina Clark and her daughter Chloe, cousin Gene Plemons and his sons Tim and Will, stepbrother Don Baldridge and his children. Arrangements under the direction of Charles W Smith and Sons Funeral Home and services will be held at Genesis Church in McKinney, TX at noon on Saturday, September 27th with Pastor Charlie Tuttle officiating. Interment will be following at Truce Cemetery, Truce, Texas.
