Jessie May Jenkins

Jessie May Jenkins, 89 of Culleoka, passed away on September 9, 2013, after a short illness, at the Hinton Home in Farmersville, Texas. She was born August 16, 1924 in Alabama to Chris and Hester Lee King. She married Clifford Newell Jenkins on June 2, 1952 and moved to Culleoka in 1974. Jessie worked in retail for many years until she retired.

Mrs. Jenkins is survived by her children, Virginia Butterfras of Michigan, Larry Jenkins, Linda Murphy and husband Bernard, Barbara Vogel and husband Joe, and Russell Jenkins of Texas: 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers (Bud, June, Robert and R.L.), her husband, Clifford Newell Jenkins in 2001 and her oldest son, Franklin Sprouse in 2007 and son-in-law, Frank Butterfras in 2013.

The family of Jessie would like to extend their appreciation to the Hinton Home in Farmersville and to the devoted staff who made her life so wonderful for the last four years of her life. Jessie will be missed by her family and all her friends.

Graveside services will be held September 12, 2013 at Pecan Grove Cemetery in McKinney, Texas at 12:00 noon. Arrangements are under the direction of Charles W. Smith and Sons Funeral Home of McKinney.
