Jessie Mae Jantz

February 1, 1944 — September 12, 2014

McKinney - Jessie Mae Jantz, 70, passed away Friday, September 12, 2014.
Per her wishes, there will not be a formal funeral as she preferred to have her life celebrated. A memorial will be planned at a later date.
Jessie, or J.J. as she liked to be called, was born February 1, 1944 in Denver, Colorado. Her family returned to Kansas when she was two. J.J. graduated from Mulvane High School in 1962 and attended York College where she met her husband. They had two loving children and a grandson who were all the light of her life.
J.J. lived in several states throughout her life until she found her true home in Texas. She believed she was a true Texan, even if she had not been born here. She worked in property management and real estate for almost 20 years, as she had a passion for helping people find a home that they loved. She attended Heritage Church with her dear friends upon her death.
In lieu of flowers, donations for her headstone would be appreciated and accepted at Charles W. Smith and Sons Funeral Home in McKinney, TX. Please contact Marilyn La Fon at 972-562-7788. Any additional donations will be sent to a local animal shelter as J.J. loved her pets, Max and Audi dearly.
J.J. was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Lucile Howlett, and her brother, Arthur Howlett.
Survivors: Ryan Jantz, her son from Dallas, TX. Shannon McGlasson , her daughter from Rowlett, TX. Her grandson, Joshua McGlasson, Austin, TX. Aunts- Erma Smith, Wichita, KS. and Skipper Stroup, Tucson, AZ. Brothers, Marvin Howlett, Denver, CO; Dean Howlett and wife, Elaine, Kansas City, KS; Bruce Howlett and wife, Sandy, Mulvane, KS and her sister, Joyce Hill and husband, Dan of Fort Worth, TX. She also has numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, who loved her vivacious character and how their Aunt Bunny made them do the Bunny hop when they were children. Her unstoppable energy and ability to entertain and make us laugh will be missed by the entire family. Thank you Ed for helping her reach for the stars in the Cessna. May she rest in peace and find a great audience to serve and entertain.
