Jerry Villarico Llanos

Jerry Villarico Llanos of Allen, TX (formerly of Mililani, Hawaii) passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 14, 2022.

He is survived by his beloved children, Daughter - Cynthia Jere Brannum (Gary), of Allen, TX, Pamela Teresa Carcido (Glenn), of Grass Valley, CA, Randal Leslie Llanos (Sondra) of Rhinelander, WI, Valerie June Llanos of Fernley, NV and Kawika Dean Llanos (Robin) of Knoxville, TN;

Grandchildren: Lyndsey Brannum, Daniel Brannum, Michael Carcido, Chris Carcido, Jarrett Llanos, Cherelle Llanos, Jacob Llanos, Maile Llanos, Brendan Llanos, Matt Hinson, Grace Hinson, Noelani Llanos

Great grandchildren: Deklan Vega, Rylen, Tyllie, Braxton & Kayleh Llanos

His brothers: Albert, Edward (Francine) and Richard (Leslie) along with too many friends and Ohana to mention; both here on the mainland and on the islands. This includes military and extended family.

Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Benita; father Magdalino, Brothers: Henry, Felix and Conrad, Sisters: Margaret, Gloria, Lourdes, Daughter: Audrey Lynn Hutton (1991) ,Son: Sidney Gerald (2021)

Dad was a patriot to the core. Having witnessed the Japanese planes flying overhead while he and Uncle Felix (around the age of 12) played at the golf course. This solidified both their decisions to join the military in order to "shoot down the enemy!" and they did; with dad lying about his age to sign up with Army at 17. Dad fought in the Korean War with 4 tours of Vietnam. Some of his jobs and accomplishments include: Machine gunner, Combat Infantry, Drill Sergeant, Sniper, Sniper instructor, K9 corps (dog handler). He was awarded the Bronze Star, Presidents Hundred, Distinguished Rifleman with many others to his credit. He refused to accept 3 Purple Heart medals for personal reasons.

Again with Dad being the consummate patriot; he loved his country and his Commander in Chief, former President Donald Trump who continued to support and care for the Veterans like he promised, during dad's twilight years. With the pandemic surging through our country and dad's eldest son, Sidney dying of Covid in Dec 2021; Dad's weakened system got the best of him even though he was a strong fighter until the end. Dying in his sleep was just the way he wanted to go.
His own way, on his own terms, and in his own time. If the Dallas Cowboys had been playing, he probably would've waited an extra day!

While Dad's earth suit is here awaiting flight to Hawaii; he will be sent off with honors in full military burial ceremony at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetary in Kaneohe. Dad was humble in anything pertaining to his military career and the only thing he asked for in the end, was to be buried in his dress blues with full military burial ceremony and laid to rest near his brothers.

I know you're enjoying heaven having been welcomed by your big Ohana & being greeted by Audrey & Sid.
Dad, you are the first man I ever loved and the best man I'll ever know.
It's been an honor and a privilege to care for you over the twilight years.
I love you and I'll see you in the meadow - Cindi"
