Jerry Wayne Hutson was born into life to Cleo Estelle Lane and Lee Bryan Hutson December 1, 1935. He was born into eternal life March 12, 2019. After his early childhood days in Sachse, Texas, he attended Garland High School where he played football and ran track. He set the state record for the mile run. Jerry held this record through his senior year in college when his time of 4:16 was beat by a time of 4:15. After he graduated from Garland High in 1954, Texas Christian University awarded him a 4-year track scholarship. Jerry graduated from TCU in 1958, and in 2005, the city of Garland added to Jerry's achievements by inducting him into the Garland Sports Hall of Fame.
Jerry began his professional career at Kraft Foods on the night "clean-up crew" in 1958. He retired 34 years later as a Vice President. During his time at Kraft, Jerry earned his MBA at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, and as a member of a distinguished group of executive leaders at Kraft Jerry took Nancy to Lausanne, Switzerland to expand Kraft's European operations. Jerry and Nancy retired in Murphys, California in 1992.
Jerry was involved in his community by serving as a dedicated volunteer for the San Andreas Food Bank, Santa's Express, and the Calaveras County Senior Services He was a member of the Garland Masonic Lodge.
Jerry Hutson is survived by his wife (of almost 50 years) Nancy; three daughters; Alecia (husband John), Elaine (husband Gary), Alison (husband Rich); 7 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson.
