After getting married she and her family moved and settled in Dallas, Texas. Along the way, Jennie became a dedicated mother to eight children. They in turn gave her 14 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. She was known to them as Gram, Grandma and Nana. She showered her grandchildren with unconditional love, warmth and wisdom. Jennie embraced every moment spent with her loved ones and created cherished memories that will be passed down through generations.

She is survived by 5 sons, Michael Spoon (Suzanne), Timothy Spoon, Thomas Spoon, Billy Jared and Sean Jared and 3 daughters, Cathy Reid (Danny), Jill Malone (Scott) and Judie Snell (Gene), and all her grandbabies. She also left a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and many beloved friends.
As we say goodbye to our beloved Mother we take solace in the beautiful memories she left behind. Her love and legacy will continue to guide and inspire us in our lives. She will forever hold a special place in our hearts. One of Mother’s favorite poem is the following:
Birdie birdie in a tree
Come and sing to Cathy Lee,
When you little song is through,
Come and sing to Michael too.
Birdie your voice is so shrill
Hush you’ll wake my sleeping Jill.
Birdie sitting on a limb,
Don’t forget my tiny Tim.
Birdie Birdie on your way,
Stop and kiss my Judie Kay,
On your travels to the moon,
Wave goodbye to Tommy Spoon.
Birdie sitting on a sill,
Stop and wink at Ol’ fat Bill
Birdie ol buddy be my friend,
Please make Sean be the end!
A Celebration of life will take place on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at her residence in Garland. The time to be determined later.
