Jean Long Porter, 63, of Garland,, Texas passed away after losing her long battle with cancer on August 24, 2014. Jean was born in Davenport, Iowa to the parents of Wilford and Betsy Long. She was the beloved wife of Jeff Porter for 24 years.
Jean is preceded in death by her parents Wilford and Betsy Long and her brother Mark Long. She is survived by her loving husband, her brother Tom Long, and her dog Piper. She will always be thought of and dearly missed.
Jean always took very loving care of her husband. She enjoyed dogs, reading, and the occasional gardening. She took great comfort in knowing that her last wishes would be met prior to her passing. Although Jean is gone, she leaves a lasting encouragement to talk with those close and loved ones to ensure your last wishes are fulfilled.
A Memorial Service will be held in the Porter family home at 10:30am on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at 213 Fairway Meadows Drive in Garland, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that donations and contributions be made in her name to the local SPCA or animal shelters.
