Janon Palmer LaRosa
July 20, 1952 — June 14, 2017
Janon LaRosa (nee Bailey), age 64, ascended to heaven after a courageous battle with cancer. Raised in Cortland, New York, she had fond memories of attending Phillips-Andover Academy and eventually, The Rochester Institute of Technology.
She was adventuresome, relocating to Portsmouth, New Hampshire, where she owned and operated a successful salon and boutique in the now historical Sise Inn.
She married her soulmate, Robert "Bob" LaRosa, nearly 35 years ago, and they eventually moved to Garland, Texas. Here she raised her twin daughters and continued her entrepreneurial activities. Jan owned several small businesses. She was a licensed commodities broker, a roofing company executive, and a real estate guru.
Besides spending time with her family, her hobbies included designing and sewing couture dresses. Jan enjoyed the challenge and artistic expression of creating a Chanel suit or a silk wedding gown. Janon was always fashionable and had a sharp eye for a well-made piece of clothing.
But family was Janon's top priority, from her trips to Lake Winnipesaukee or to the family cottage on Skaneateles Lake. She loved being near water.
Jan's loss leaves a gaping hole for those who knew and loved her, but we know she watches over us, sending us her light and love.
Janon is preceded in death by Dr. Donald and Judith Bailey of Cortland, NY.
Jan is survived by her husband, Robert "Bob" LaRosa; her daughters, Jennifer (Adam) Berliner, Mara (Bob) Vecchio and Allison Ray; her grandchildren, Drew, Mary, Maddie and Matthew; her siblings, Doug (Karin) Bailey, Jennifer Bailey and Charles "Chuckie" Bailey; nieces and nephew, Kennedy, Stone, Aubrie and Caroline.
Visitation will be held Saturday, June 17th, 2017 from 5pm-7pm at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 2925 5th St, Sachse, TX 75048.
