Janice Carol Williams Norrell ended her earthly sojourn in the afternoon on Tuesday, May 3, 2022. She was peaceful and surrounded by her family who love her.
Janice was born to Joe and Reba Williams on April 12, 1944, at Baylor Maternity Hospital in Dallas, Texas. She grew up in Dallas and graduated from W.W. Samuel High School. She attended North Texas University, University of Texas at Arlington, Texas Christian University and matriculated with her teaching degree from Baylor University. She met her husband (Charles) Jerry Norrell when he brought home his roommate, her brother Ronald, for the Fall semester. They talked on the porch for four hours that day and were married within two months on Valentine's Day 1964. The couple celebrated their Golden Anniversary in 2014. They raised four children, (Charles) Griffin, Melissa, Rhonda, and Justin.
Janice valued education and enjoyed thirty-five years teaching advanced placement English at McKinney High School. She also served as an Academic Decathlon Sponsor.
She was a smart, outgoing, caring woman who never met a stranger. She enjoyed watching British serials, shopping, and spending time with family.
Her parents and her husband preceded her in death. She is survived by her brother, Ronald Williams and wife Helen, son and daughter-in-law, Griffin and Wendy Norrell, her daughter and son-in-law Melissa and Brandon Blythe, her daughter Rhonda Sawyer, and her son Justin Norrell. Janice has eight grandchildren, Marissa, Brittany, Eleanor, Brooke, Blake, Brett, Elliott, and Sloane.

Her memorial service is at 4:00 p.m., Thursday May 12, 2022, at Charles W. Smith and Sons Funeral Home in McKinney, TX.
