After 73 joyful years, Janet R. Uhlig went to her heavenly home on Saturday, October 27, 2018.
Janet was born September 19, 1945 to H.H. "Foxie" and Jackie M. (St Clair) Foxworthy in Conroe, Texas. She grew up and attended schools all over Texas graduating from Zapata High School in 1963. After attending South West Texas State she met and married George Uhlig on February 26, 1966 in Seguin, Texas. They moved to Dallas where she worked as keypunch operator. After their move to Plano and the arrival of their daughters, she became an RN, but found her true calling as a homemaker.
Participating in church and her family's activities were her passion. Along with her hobbies of crocheting, reading, sewing and puzzles she loves to travel and go to the lake. Her favorite times were spent surrounded by family at a "rally" and visits from her beloved grandchildren.
Janet was a very loving person and Christian lady whose endurance was a testament to her strong will and belief in the Lord. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and treasured friend to many, she will be truly missed by all.
Janet is survived by George her loyal and steadfast husband of 52 years. Her daughters, Sandra Uhlig-Havey and husband Robb, Kay Jolley and husband Jeff, grandchildren James and Evalynn Jolley and brother Harold "Bud" Foxworthy.
Please join her family in a visitation Thursday, November 1st from 6-8 pm at Charles W. Smith and Sons Funeral Home, 2343 Lake Road, Lavon, TX and service Friday, November 2 at 2 pm at Buckingham Road Church of Christ, 3630 Buckingham Road, Garland, TX 75042.
