Memorial services for Janet Tabor, 69, will be held at Charles W. Smith and Sons Funeral Home chapel in Lavon, TX on Tuesday June 1 at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service.
She was born June 27, 1951 in Texarkana, TX to Virginia Oleen and Owen Clark Hooker. Died May 27, 2021 in Richardson, TX.
She was peceded in death by her husband James Wesley Tabor and her granddaughter Lindsey Paige Bear Tabor. She is survived by her parents Owen and Pat Hooker, brother Mark Hooker, son Jeffrey Bear Tabor and his wife Amanda, and her granddaughter Brittany Lynn Bear Tabor.
Janet was a daughter, sister, wife, mom, and grandmother (or Grammy as the family called her). In her younger years she was an avid musician playing piano and singing for church groups and Sunday school classes. Also, as for many girls of her age, she loved Elvis Presley. Janet had several jobs through life. But, her longest job and career was caring for children in an in home daycare for almost 30 years.
Janet (Momma, Grammy) will be missed. Her favorite bible verse was Psalm 118:24. "This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it."
