James Leroy Ward passed away Monday June 17, 2019 in Wylie, Texas at the age of 85. James was born in Idalou, Texas on March 9, 1934 to Thomas and Stella Ward, who preceded him in death.
James was the youngest of nine children; four boys and five girls; Jewel Chase of White Plains, New York (deceased); Zelma Johnigan of Ozona, Texas (deceased); Edmond Ward of Quanah, Texas (deceased); Janice and Carol Lumpkin of Richland Hills, Texas; Nora DeWoody of Wichita Falls, Texas; S.L. Ward of Chillicothe, Texas (deceased); Beth Williams of Gatesville, Texas; and Jimmy and Joyce Ward of Norman, Oklahoma.
Also preceding him in death were his two children; Karon Ward Shalberg and Tony Ward of Norman, Oklahoma.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years; Glenda Ward of Wylie, Texas. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Brandi and husband Shawn Milligan of Frisco, Texas; Rob and wife Suzanne Henderson of Austin, Texas; and great-grandchildren Alex, Karon, Paxton, and Cruz.
Memorial services will be held at a later date for close family and friends.
