James Donald Turner passed away with his loving family by his side on May 4, 2014.
He graduated from West Coast University with a degree in Engineering. He and his college sweetheart, Johnnie Faye Logan, were married in 1955 and moved to Brea, California where he worked for North American Aviation in the aerospace industry.
They moved to Huntsville, Alabama where he worked for NASA until 1968. Moving back to California, he worked in Medical Engineering at Rohe Scientific/Phillips Corporation.
In 1997, he retired from engineering and became a preacher for the congregation at Lake Elsinore Church of Christ for ten years. He retired in 2007 and moved with all of his family to the Dallas, Texas area.
He is survived by his wife - Johnnie Faye (married for 59 years), his children - Sharon Butler and husband Paul Butler, Diane Serrano, Brenda Barker and husband Dave Barker, Wendy Leffakis and husband Marcus Leffakis, and James Logan Turner and wife Elisa Turner; his grandchildren- Steve Butler and wife Elisabeth Butler, David and Joshua Barker, Ismaelena Serrano, Amanda and Alyssa Leffakis, and Nicole, Logan, and Jacob Turner; his brother - Harold Turner and wife Sarah Turner, and many relatives and friends.
He was always a good and faithful Christian man. He was loved by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, but he is in the arms of his Father in Heaven where there will be no more suffering and a wonderful peace for all eternity.
