James Richard Schmitzerle

James Richard Schmitzerle, also known as "Beau", age 50, of Wylie, TX, passed away on September 23rd, 2021 at Methodist Richardson Medical Center Dallas TX.

Born on July 12, 1971 in Louisville, KY to Martha Ann (Escue) Schmitzerle and the late Richard Guy Schmitzerle. He is was the Proud Father of Michael Lloyd (Gessyca) Schmitzerle of San Diego, CA, Jacob Ryan Schmitzerle of Tulsa OK, and Brody Allen Schmitzerle of San Diego, CA . The youngest brother to Mark (Ginger) Schmitzerle of Clarksville TN, Matt (Penny) Schmitzerle and Tina (Mike) Banet of Leitchfield, KY.

He was proceeded in death by his father Richard Guy Schmitzerle, his beloved Sister Mary Martha (Schmitzerle) Dowell. Paternal grandparents Otto and Lilian Schmitzerle of Detroit MI, and Maternal grandparents James and Annie Escue of Leitchfield, KY.

James joined the Navy after graduation 1989 as an Aviation's Electronics Technician working on weapons systems & electronics for F-14's. He took a small break from the military in 1993 and attended the Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology in Tulsa, OK. He re-enlisted in the Navy in 1995 and changed rates to an Electronic Technician, specializing in the communications systems for the USS Fitzgerald & the USS Vincennes ending his tour with the Navy in 1999.

Shortly after leaving the military he began working with Verizon as a network specialist and had over 20 years with the company. Beginning his career working in Service Assurance as a test and install technician. James was persistent in his work ethic and finally landed in the Ethernet Test and Install group. He was a diligent technical source for group and was often utilized for higher level troubleshooting in the network and had a vast knowledge of Ethernet engineering. He was the "Go To" guy for many of his peers, straight forward thinker and always helped out anyway he could.

James was a hard worker, brilliant man and a role model to all. He loved dancing, and fishing, but most of all he loved his family. He was quintessential mans "Man" a true do it yourself kind of guy. He had an extreme personality that would range from "the voice of reason to a comedian and life of the party". He was about as tough and as stubborn as they come with many layers to his unique personality, but deep down inside he was a "Huge Teddy Bear". He enjoyed all the simple things in life that most of us took for granted and will be sadly missed by all.

Visitation and viewing will be held Saturday, October 2, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. followed by a Funeral service beginning at 4:00 p.m. in the Charles W. Smith and Sons Chapel, 2925 5th St., Sachse, TX 75048.
