James Burtis Rose, 85, of Sachse Texas passed away March 16, 2022. He was known to many as "Jim" and to others as "Burt."
Jim/Burt was born February 23, 1937 in Tate County, Mississippi to father Thomas Alexander Rose, and mother Mattie Allen Harvey. His father passed away when Jim/Burt was 6 years old. His mother then moved the family to Memphis, Tennessee. He attended school there until his senior year of high school, when he and his mother moved to Inglewood, California. He attended Leuzinger High School in Inglewood. He also attended El Camino Junior College and Pacific States University in Los Angeles.
He married Charlene Livingston on April 21, 1956 in Hamilton, Texas.
He worked in the field of electronics and worked for the 3M Company in Camarillo, California for 16 years in their data tape division. In 1976, he went to work for Bell & Howell and was transferred to Dallas, Texas. In 1979, he began working for E- Systems (later Raytheon) in Garland, Texas. Jim/Burt retired from Raytheon in 1998.
He is preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Joel, Floyd, Mathus, and Thomas.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Charlene, daughter Kim Bryant and her husband James of Sachse, Texas, son James Michael Rose and his wife Marlene, of Intercession City, Florida, 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
