James William Morris

Rev. James William Morris, age 86 of Sachse, TX, passed away May 17, 2016 in Dallas, TX. He was born on November 19, 1929 in Sellman City, TX to William and Minnie (Seelbach) Morris. James married Wanda Morris and served in the Air Force. He was a member of the Faith Fellowship Church in Lucas, TX.


James was ordained by the Assembly of God Church. He attended Southwestern Assemblies of God University and ministered as an evangelist across the U.S. and internationally for 60 years. He pastored at churches in Farmington, NM, Highland, TX, Grand Prairie, TX, Panama City, FL and Richardson, TX. James was an avid golfer and marshall at Firewheel Golf Course, and he enjoyed fly fishing in Colorado and refurbishing classic cars.


James is survived by his wife, Wanda Morris; daughter, Renee’ Hyatt and husband, Steve; son, Ken Morris and wife, Jeanie; 5 grandchildren, Chad, Eric, Nicole, Keith and Chelsea; 3 great-grandchildren, Ella, Winston and Josephine Rose and a great-grandson arriving in July; sister, Mary Lee Wood and Charlene Franklin; brother, Leon Morris.


A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at the Dallas/Ft. Worth National Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Faith Fellowship Church, 415 W. Lucas Rd., Lucas, TX 75002, with Rev. Ken Morris officiating.
