James Edward Langford

James Langford was born in Athens, Texas on February 16, 1940 and went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 9, 2023.

James was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed camping and fishing. He was married to Martha for 50 years and raised four children. He enjoyed spending time with his family at his house in Farmersville. He worked hard all his life and retired from Garland Independent School District.

James is survived by his daughter Sharon Jackson, daughter Deborah Sumpter, his son Billy Sumpter, his sister Vicky Lux, his sister Patsy Hooten, his brother Ricky Langford and eleven grandchildren and twenty-eight great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father John Langford, his mother Gladys Langford, his brother Benny Langford, his brother Don Langford, his sister Shirley Shaw, his wife Martha Langford and his son Thomas Sumpter.
