75, of Wylie, Texas, passed away January 26, 2013 in Plano, Texas. He was born December 12, 1937 in Waterloo, Iowa to Leslie and Eleanore Heyer.
Jim retired from the United States Navy after serving 23 years which included three tours in Vietnam.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dennis Heyer; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lines; and his paternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Heyer.
Jim is survived by his wife of 35 years, Bernice Heyer; son, Jeffrey Clark and his wife, Jane; three daughters, April Clark-Straube and her husband, John, Stephanie McDonald and Charmaine Springett; three grandchildren, Melissa Clark, Taylor Springett and Christopher McDonald.
Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Monday, January 28, 2013 at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 2925 5th Street, Sachse, Texas 75048.
Service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, 2925 5th Street, Sachse, Texas 75048. Chaplain Tom Couser officiating.
Interment will be at 2:15 P.M., Monday, February 4, 2013 in Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211.
