JAMES DOUGLAS GRIZZLE
James Douglas Grizzle passed away on September 13, 2011 near his home in Garland, Texas. James, know by family and friends as "Jay" or "Jaybird," was born on February 9, 1978 in Corona, California. He was a loving father who shared his love of the outdoors with his precious children, Collin and Madelyn. They made many memories together fishing, kayaking, and camping. Jay loved to ride his bike, and many of his days began with a morning ride around the Greenbelt. Jay flaunted his athleticism by beating friends while playing his favorite sport, disc golf. Jay’s passion for cooking was evident, stemming from years in the kitchen learning from his grandmother. He loved to take recipes and make them his own, which often meant the addition of anything hot... jalapenos and habanero sauce especially. Jay will be buried in his favorite blue shirt, crisply pressed in true Jay style. Jay had a deep relationship with God, reaffirming his faith many times in his life. Jay had a zest for life and generous heart. He will be truly missed and in our thoughts often.
Jay was survived by his father Charles Grizzle; mother, Jill Sykes and husband, Ed Sykes; maternal grandparents, Bill and Shirley Ballard; paternal grandfather, Vernon Grizzle; sisters, Amy Grizzle Dibble, Amber Howard Perry, Ashley Ainsworth Howard, and Crystal Grizzle; Uncle and Aunt Doug and Deborah Ballard; and many other family and friends.
The viewing will be Thursday, September 15 from 6-8:30pm at Eastgate Funeral Home, 1920 Eastgate Dr, Garland, TX, 75041

The funeral service is Friday starting at 10:00am at Axe Memorial Methodist United Church, 1700 W. Kingsley, Garland, TX, 75041.
