James William Fisher, Jr., age 77 of Rockwall, Texas, passed from this earth to be with our Lord and Savior at 3:55am Tuesday, January 21, 2025. He was a hardworking man, devoted to providing for his family and generously gave to others in their times of need. Surrounded by his family in his final moments he left this earth peacefully, despite the disease that had robbed him of his memory and physical abilities in the past few years. He graduated in the top of his class from South Garland High School in 1966, having been awarded the title of Most Courteous. He was a graduate from University of Texas at Arlington in 1971 with a Bachelor of Business Administration. He started as an electrical inspector for the Town of Highland Park in 1973 and ended his 35 years of service as Director of Public Works and Town Secretary. He was a faithful member of Lakepointe Church in Rockwall since 1989. Upon retirement he became his grandchildren’s favorite playmate. He was an active member of Timothy Warren’s Sunday school class, taking time to visit and pray for the sick and elderly in their times of need. Survivors include his wife of 55 years Brenda Potter Fisher; daughter Dara Elizabeth Bearden and husband David Bearden; son James Zachary Fisher; grandsons Elijah Bearden and Oliver Bearden; granddaughter Liberty Fisher; sister Marilyn Earwood and husband Larry Earwood; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding in Heavenly passage were parents: James William Fisher and Opal Price Fisher; sister Carolyn McGill; brother Thomas Fisher; and nephew Wesley McGill.
