James Lee Ferris

James Lee Ferris 49, of Lewisville, Texas passed away on January 30, 2014. He was born in Ithaca, New York on April 5, 1964 to parents Thomas C. Ferris and Cecelia A. Buckley. Mr. Ferris graduated from Plano Senior High School in 1982. He joined the United States Navy where he spent three years active duty. In 1991 he graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas and then went on to receive an honorable discharge from the United States Navy reserve on January 12, 1994.

Mr. Ferris was an account executive, selling software, for Take Supply Chain. Jim loved scuba diving, skiing, flying, martial arts, body building, motorcycling, hunting and fishing, and most of all he loved his children.

He is survived by his parents, Thomas C. Ferris of Plano, Texas and Cecelia A. Buckley of Penfield, New York; stepmother, Diane Z. Ferris of Plano, Texas; children, Brooke M. Ferris and Hudson J. Ferris of Flower Mound, Texas; brother, Michael C. Ferris; sister, Bonnie Jo Smith; nieces, Aryssa Smith and Kaylynn Smith; nephew Zachary Smith; all from upstate New York, as well as other extended family members.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday February 11, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home located at 601 S. Tennessee St. in McKinney, Texas. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at 11:00 am at Flower Mound Community Church located at 3415 Cross Timbers Road, Flower Mound, Texas 75028. Services will be presided over by Charlie Holton. Burial will take place on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at 2:15 pm at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.

In Lieu of Flowers the family has requested that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Children's Medical Center of Dallas, or a charity of your choice.
