James "Jim" David Ferguson, Sr.
On the evening of September 2, 2022, Jim passed away at Mustang Creek Estates Memory Care. Sachse, Texas. Jim was 76 years old.
Jim was born in Buffalo, New York on January 31, 1946. He was the third child, and youngest of three sons, of Evelyn and George Ferguson.
Jim grew up in Orchard Park, New York. He enlisted in the Navy at the age of 18. His 26 year tenure included being stationed in San Diego, CA, Chicago, IL, Jacksonville, FL, Alameda, CA, and retired in New Orleans, LA, in 1993 as Chief Petty Officer. Jim loved the Navy and the airplanes that he worked on. He was an aviation mechanic, an avid NASCAR fan, and loved tinkering in the garage.
Jim was preceded in death by his brothers Ray and George, and parents Evelyn and George Ferguson. Jim is survived by his Wife of 29 years, Jackie (Fitzgerald) Ferguson, Son James "Jay" Ferguson, Jr. and Wife Charleen (Harnden) Ferguson, of Wylie, TX, Grand Daughter Patricia (Luke) Hill and
Husband Ben Hill, Great Granddaughters Ivy Luke and Olivia Hill of Kennesaw, GA, and Grandson David Luke and Wife Kristy (Russell) Luke and great granddaughters Yezra Bailey Luke and Ava
Patricia Luke of Frisco, TX, his Aunt Myra (Stahlka) Ferguson, Cousins Katerine (Ferguson) Knotts, David Ferguson and his wife Yvonne (Brady) Ferguson, children Rebekah (Ferguson) Mehltretter and her husband Peter Mehltretter, and their 4 children, Paul Ferguson and his wife Stephanie (Clark) Ferguson, Mark Ferguson and wife Sandi (Shoop) Ferguson, and Children Bradley Ferguson and Melyssa Ferguson, and his Fur Babies, Mickie and GiGi.
Jim loved traveling the country and kept his promise to his wife Jackie that he would take her on exciting journeys to places she'd never been before. Jim will be greatly missed and remembered for his compassionate and caring demeanor.
