James Deptula

James “Matt” Deptula of Allen, Texas passed away unexpectedly May 22, 2018. He was born November 28, 1976 in McKinney, Texas to John and Deborah (Tomlinson) Deptula.Matt worked as an elevator mechanic for Schindler Elevator Company. In his free time, he enjoyed attending Cottonwood Creek Baptist Church, camping with his beautiful family, and cheering on his son’s soccer team. Matt was also a member of the Elevator’s Mechanic Union IUEC Local 21.Matt is survived by his loving wife; Darcy Rogers Deptula, children; Colt Rogers Deptula and Kaylee Nichole Deptula, his parents; John (Sonny) Vincent and Deborah Ann Deptula, a sister; Jennie Deptula. He is also survived by an Uncle; James Daniel Tomlinson, aunts; Sharon Frances Hughes and Antonette (Toni) Bartel and cousins; Dawn, Kim, Tiffany, Josh, Danny, Mattie Gene, Shannan, and Dana.Matt is preceded by his grandparents; James and Betty Tomlinson, as well as Reba Honea and an aunt; Elaine Finch.A visitation will be held Friday May 25, 2018 from 4:00-5:00p.m. at Cross Road Christian Church of McKinney-located at 3755 FM 1461, and the funeral service will immediately follow, at the church, beginning at 5:00p.m.The Deptula’s ask, that in lieu of flowers, donations be made, in Matt’s name, to either The Samaritan Inn of McKinney or Collin County Meals in Wheels.
