James Steaphen Chennault, age 67, went to heaven on November 23, 2019. Born December 26, 1951 in Dallas, TX, "Steve", as he was called by family and friends, was the son of James and Theresa Chennault. He graduated from South Garland High School and Texas A&M University with a degree in BioChemistry. He was a member of the Corps of Cadets all four years of college. He served in the U. S. Army from 1975-1995 in the Field Artillery and Chemical Corps. After the military, Steve's other career endeavors included working as a Funeral Director for Dignity, as an International Customer Service Rep for Interstate Battery, and as a student (after retirement) at Dallas Theological Seminary.
A member of First Baptist Church of Garland, he shared responsibility as a Sunday School teacher and later, as a deacon for a short period. He enjoyed rooting for his Aggies—especially football—as well as his beloved Dallas Cowboys. He will be remembered for his contagious humor, his infectious smile, his perpetual donning of Aggie apparel, his sincere interest in others, and his everlasting love of his family and, most importantly, his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
