James Carter

James “Perry” Carter, age 77 of Sachse, TX, passed away December 22, 2016 in Garland, TX. He was born on February 25, 1939 in Jefferson, TX to Osborne Johnson and Lola Mae (Watson) Carter. Perry served in the U.S. Army, and he was an Education Professor at Richland College for almost 40 years before he retired. He married Anna Han on May 29, 2008 in Las Vegas, NV. Perry had many interests that included sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys and the Dallas Mavericks, and traveling. He traveled all over the world and, when he wasn’t traveling, he turned his hobby of real estate into a job, because it kept him so busy, and he enjoyed it so much. Perry was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, and he will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.Perry is survived by his wife, Anna Han Carter; daughters, Dorinda Wade and husband, Coy, Teresa Hassell and husband, Ryan, and Jennifer Rick and husband, SGM Paul Rick; grandchildren, James Nicholas Wade and wife, Jordan, Zachary Nolan Hassell, and Micaela Hope Hassell; brother, Morris Carter; dear friends, Tom Henderson and Al Schroeder; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Edward Wilbur Carter and wife, Pat; and sister-in-law, Fannie Mae Carter.A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Monday, December 26, 2016 at the Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211. Attendees must be there at 11:15 a.m. in Lane "C".In lieu of flowers, a donation in Perry’s memory may be made to the American Lung Association or to the charity of your choice.
